'Would someone tell RiRi to have a seat, or must we have her seated?'- R. Brody

iM really big on promoting the absolute wealth of talent that Bahamian artists have on offer. iFind that over the past three years, or so, there has been somewhat of a renaissance of Bahamian talent, whether that be in terms of music including singing and song writing, visual art including photography, painting & drawing, fashion design, aesthetic arts, and great literature. iSay ‘stand up’ to all young people, be counted and contribute to the cultural and artistic revolution of our country. eNough with that, iVe been delaying this post for far too long…

Alex C, also known as Alexandria Christie, continues to prove herself with not only her clear, smooth & refreshing voice - killer dance moves - stellar beauty - energized vibe & flow, but also with her impeccable intellect. Even with her stunning outer appeal I can say that Alex epitomizes class and exudes an appreciable tastefulness.

iCan also say something that many people dN't know, this Bahamian bombshell & up and coming artist was once my homeroom prefect [Cahill, haha] when iWas just a ‘tot’ coming up through High School!

Why not try a triple thriller? Beauty, Brains & Ballads! Definitely not bad at all!

Alex, is currently based in Atlanta and working alongside successful artist & musician, producer/songwriter Dallas Austin and is even featured on his latest track, Addicted to Love peep the video. Alex's other yet-to-be-released songs include 'Round n Round ft. Rock City', 'No Ring' and 'Let 'Em Know' (my personal favorite) - which are definitely all bangers as well!

In what may be considered the first step towards her imminent mainstream success Alex's debut single 'Hustla' - which I also personally love - debuted on V103 Atlanta on 8th April. iFeel that this song can be described as an attractively confident tone with a refined, edgy and completely hype melody. The song reflects a new sound and encompasses all that 'island music' has to offer, with a sort of refinement that has what I would consider to be a universal appeal, it just makes you want to drop and 'bruk out'! I can totally envision a rap feature being incorporated into a remix in the future, can someone say an all around club banger & hit?

There's much more in store!

Alex wanted to share few words with everyone thanking them and giving a little exclusive update:

"Thank you so very much for supporting me the way you do, from the bottom of my heart. I really appreciate it. 'Hustla' debuted as my buzz single on V103 Atlanta and it still hasn't hit me yet!

I'm currently working on a mixtape with the infamous DJ Green Lantern and you can expect to hear a lot of surprises on it, yes, yes, killer!

Love you guys!"

Be sure to tune in to Alex on V103 Atlanta as she is officially introduced to the world as an artist by Dallas Austin this Tuesday!

Here's the radio premiere of 'Hustla' as introduced by Dallas Austin, enjoy! Don't forget to follow Alex on Twitter and give her your support!

Flawed: Yet Chosen!

Mistakes, 'slip-ups', failures, adversity, challenges, conflicts, spitefulness, jealously, malice...

We’re all guilty of at least one of these features of light, although we may be too embarrassed to admit it out loud --- even if just to ourselves.
Speaking for myself, I make mistakes and face much adversity daily and as I have come to the end of my last term of University for the academic year I have had the opportunity to reflect on all that has happened this past year, whether it was for good or for bad.

I can give many examples of the types of 'flaws' that iHave been subject to this year! There are some friendships that I wish that I had not tolerated, there are some people that I wish that I had not associated with, there are some things that I wish I had not done and there are some words that I wish I had not said. On the other hand there I are so many things that I regret not doing! ....In keeping with being human, that’s the extent to which I wish to elaborate, haha! Typical?

I would like to think of these aspects of our lives as being our ‘flaws’. As I said above, we’re all 'flawed' in some way or another - in keeping with this line of reasoning. I think it’s important that we don’t fall into the trap of mistaking our flaws for despair or associating them with negativity, for without flaws we would be unable to appreciate the absolute beauty of life, as it was intended.

I must admit that even to me the words ‘iM flawed; yet chosen’ seem to not make much sense in a modern world. There are a few recurring questions which present themselves including: Is this idea correct; is this thought even logical in the slightest? Isn’t it hard to believe?

We are all chosen for something, whether it be something within our respective fields & areas of expertise, according to our talents. For instance, with me, I’m studying law because I want to be an advocate for ‘the people’, but that’s another story for another post - someday. Others may aspire to be singers and songwriters, in turn reaching out to people in another way - through their creative talent. Others may aspire to be teachers so that they may, in turn reach out to people in their own special way.

The truth is that God and not man has chosen us for something! There are many that may have you believe that you cannot realize your goals because of your ‘flaws’ and that you cannot overcome them.

Despite their best attempts, I want you to know that even when the people that we have wronged or hurt fail to forgive us and decide to never let our mistakes down, the most important thing to remember is that there is someone higher in the chain of authority to consider and redeem us of our flaws.

1 John 1:19
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

It is important that we forgive ourselves, and determine within our minds that we will overcome any and all of the 'flaws' that seek to hinder us!

We are flawed: yet chosen!
